These lands have been the focus of socio-spatial transformations and land tenure systems for the last thirty years. This paper investigate the impact of the privatization process of these collective lands on agrarian systems and compare different management modes of and access to pasture lands (cooperative pastoral and other forms). Particularly, we intend to understand the relationship between tenure system, management and behavior of farmers-breeders in the study region. The privatization process of collective lands previously used for pasturage and whereby the access was organized on a community basis, has led to different agrarian systems and pasture management modes. At the central region of the country this process has been achieved and resulted into a farming system dominated by fruit trees and irrigated agriculture although differentiated based on the availability of water or natural conditions. In the south, however, this process is undergoing and pastoral lands are still predominant.Salah SelmiMohamed ElloumiÉditions en environnement VertigOarticleactorcentremanagementpastoral landssouthsystemEnvironmental sciencesGE1-350FRVertigO, Vol 4 (2007) |
