Sumario: | Aim. To identify the state of phagocytic and oxidative activity of phagocytes in the blood in patients with reactive arthritis caused by chlamydia and viral infections.
Material and Methods. The investigation involved 97 patients with reactive arthritis (33 patients with reactive arthritis and EBV; 19 patients with reactive arthritis and dual infection - EBV and C. trachomatis; 28 patients with reactive arthritis and C. trachomatis; and 17 patients with reactive arthritis induced by tonsillitis). The study of phagocytic activity and "oxidative explosion" of neutrophils and monocytes was conducted using the technique of flow cytofluorometry.
Results and Discussion. Neutrophil phagocytic activity after E.coli stimulation was reduced (p<0.05) in patients with reactive arthritis with EBV and C. trachomatis compared to the group of healthy individuals. Phagocytic activity of monocytes after E. coli stimulation was reduced in patients with reactive arthritis with EBV, EBV and C. trachomatis, and C.trachomatis compared to the group of healthy individuals. The oxidative activity of neutrophils after E. coli stimulation was reduced in the group of patients with reactive arthritis and combined infection - EBV and C Trachomatis.
Conclusions. In the blood of patients with reactive arthritis changes in the phagocytic activity of neutrophils and monocytes without stimulation and a decrease in their oxidative activity after E.coli stimulation were observed. |
