| Sumario: | Caricature is a hurtful art branch based on revealing flaws by nature. The aim of cartoon is to create a social awareness and sensitivity. This branch of art includes both satire and praise. Satire results from discontent. The praise is to give the right to what is thought to be true. However, since the cartoonists are under the pressure of the government from time to time, they cannot fully fulfill their functions and are not allowed to oppose freely. As in all branches of science and art, cartoon also develops in an environment of freedom. Freedom is the formula for progress and development. Fear and oppression cause hatred and violence. No social problem can be solved with destructive behavior. It can only be hidden for a while. The suppressed emotions are expressed more strongly when the time comes. Indeed, this is the case in every period. He published newspaper and magazine.
In this article, the caricatures of Hüseyin Cahit Yalçın, published in Akbaba Magazine, were examined. Some of the cartoons published in the magazine are included in our study. As understood from the cartoons, the life of the author is full of troubles. Their bold discourse has a big impact on this. Some of his political writings have gathered reactions. Therefore, he was tried in court. From time to time he lived exile life. He also became a deputy. He is a popular person because he is a journalist and politician. He has many caricatures in the magazine. Cartoons are like documents reflecting the important events of his life. The writer, with his discourses, was both the target of negative criticism and accepted as a master. |
