Descripción
Sumario:This article presents an abridged translation of the article: Les tribus indiennes des bassins du Purus, Juruá et des régions limitrophes. Rivet, P. & C. Tastevin (Mai, 1921), pp. 449-482. The purpose of this translation is to disclose a list of 153 ethnonyms of the Juruá basins, Purus and bordering regions, in order to contribute to an ethnogenesis of the Acrian region. Our objective is to make the list public to encourage comparative searches of ethnic names, including their identification and location. The original peoples living in this region encompass three large families (ranging from Ucayali to Madeira): Pano, Aruak and Aruá. Hence, we provide subsidies to support and recover the trajectory of possible migratory movements of these indigenous populations.
