Sumario:At this research; the fear and the violance at the texts of 220 books , 135 of which are fairy tales and 85 of which are story books, have been examined with an evaluation form prepeared by the researcher. In general, while at the texts of story books %7,05 fear items and % 15,2 violance items have been observed , at the text of fairy tales %11,8 fear item and % 24,4 violance item have been observed . It has been found that these items take part more in the group of the world classics. This research has put forth the fact that world of children has differentiated in our world which has changed according to today's circumstances and from now on these tales should be evaluated by ‘straining’ considering changing education system and necessary examinations should be made. Furthermore, an interview form has been prepeared to define pre-school teachers’ awareness against the fear and the violance elements in child books.In the research, the result which has been reached by examining the answers given to the interview forms by the teachers, is that teachers have insufficient knowledge about good child book’s features and they behave carelessly and unconcerned about choosing the books which they will read in their classrooms.Also, the suggestions about the subject have been made.
