Sumario:Maxillo-facial area phlegmon is a common, serious, costly and deadly disease. Over the last decade, the attention of researches and clinical was focused on the search the optimal methods of diagnosis and treatment of this pathology. It is necessary for timely initiation of adequate causal antibiotic therapy and prevention of complications. Gas chromatography - mass-spectrometry is one of the most powerful analytical methods to obtain data on the exciter. The review highlights the current understanding of the role and potential of the method in the improvement of measures aimed at prevention and treatment of phlegmons and their complications.
