Sumario: | This article exposes the reasons why great apes should be considered by the UNESCO as a Living Heritage of Humanity. The consequences and benefits that would follow this decision will not only protect the great apes, but also, the indigenous and tropical ecosystems. This article also give reasons why great apes should be considered as non-human persons and the jurisprudence that already exist in this sense, making an important approach to the protection of their basic rights. |
