Sumario:This article studies the theatric expressions as a mean of resistance in Argentina, aiming to explain how it became a tool of political struggle. The period studied begins with the process of restoration of democracy, from 1983 to 2006. In order to analyze this phenomenon, we have studied the particularities of the evolution of the political theater in Argentina during the last decade (a period characterized by the introduction of neoliberal economic policies under the government of Menem, 1989-1999), also considering the political potentials of the theater in the current international socio-political context. This was undertaken through the study of two of the main representative tendencies of theater resistance recognized during the research conducted in Buenos Aires in 2006: the first, regarding the organization behind the support of materials for theater companies, and, the second, concerning the search of a new artistic language in the proposed plays; both identified as counter-power expressions from a globalized perspective.
