Sumario:Following Italian unification, a sea port construction began in Bosa, a river city on the west coast of Sardinia. The project was promoted as a promise for city improvement and prosperity, but ultimately resulted in failure and as a source of debt. This paper examines the rising Liberal State of Italia through the study of this building project, seeking to understand whether there were already signs of fragility from the outset.
