Sumario:TREM-1 is a receptor that amplifies acute pro-inflammatory responses in infection. Here the authors show that TREM-1 plays an important role in atherosclerosis, a chronic and non-infectious disease, by critically skewing myelopoiesis towards preferential monocyte differentiation and by contributing to CD36-driven cellular lipid accumulation.
