Sumario:This paper analyzes the spatial distribution of tertiary education supply and the labor market in the Northeast of Brazil. Therefore, divide the supply fields of tertiary education and labor market sectors in groups established by the international classification of the United Nations. Through statistical techniques of exploratory spatial data analysis (Esda), the result of this study reveals that the supply of tertiary education in the Northeast of Brazil is concentrated in the field of education, and the sector that employs more workers with higher education. Meanwhile the agricultural and veterinary sector are the largest employers, particularly close to the areas with high concentrations of illiterate and low level of GDP per capita. Otherwise, the most dynamic sectors of the economy (such as those focused on business, production and services) are concentrated on the coast, mainly around the metropolitan areas of Salvador, Recife and Fortaleza.
