Sumario:Praia is the capital and largest city of Cape Verde, it is experiencing a very vigorous urban restructuring process that surprises by its richness and also by uncritically reproducing a pattern of extreme spatial segregation, a positive segregation (that desired by those who are segregated). Spatial segregation that separates “traditional” from “modern” and generate the risk of intense fractures in social cohesion. Surprising segregation, seen the dimensions of the unnecessarily motorized city, feature of the pattern that is built, in which impresses the absence of any concern with urbanity.
