It is possible to say that leather products with a long history in Turkish culture have become a part of modern life as an element of prestige beyond being an art and culture value that carries the present for the future. In this respect, all aspects of social life are characterized by quality workmanship and material cultural goods bearing outstanding art values. Leather history goes back to the beginning of human history. The quest to meet people's need for nutrition and hiding has led to the transition to hunting and gathering. Çatalhöyük is the center of Neolithic Era located in Çumra District near Konya in Anatolia. The human figures on the cave wall paintings in Çatalhöyük are the most important documents giving information about the history of leather products. It is seen both in written sources and in museums and collections as examples of important examples of Turkish leather art in a leather book cover, clothes, pendants, tents, war materials and traditional shadow play characters Hacivat-Karagöz, in short, in all areas of life. Leather products that are trying to maintain their presence as an important cultural asset have become part of the modern way of life. Precision handling and careful maintenance of leather products emphasizes restoration in the context of protection, cleaning and maintenance requirements.
