The reference to sustainable development has become essential in the production and management of urban spaces. If sustainable development is a temporal concept by definition, how does it transform the way of thinking time in urban projects? Attention is paid to the temporality of the urban project,the mode of temporalization of action, to the making of common time of the urban project, and to the way actors deal with and are concerned about the question of the project times and their articulations with concerns for sustainable development. The study of three specific urban projects shows that the urban project includes multiple temporalities. The tangle of temporality related to the project activity, in the context of sustainable development can not emerge as guiding principle despite the stated objectives, does not undermine the time of it.
