Sumario: | Different rituals were formed in this field with the disruption of the divine primary teaching about what should be done to the corpose of a deceased person. One of the most important reasons for this is the confusion about the concept of the hereafter for people who are moving away from the belief in the oneness of the prophets. Those who believed that a life exists after death showed attitudes towards preparing their dead for this new life. Burying the dead with the things he loves and even the people he loves, mummification to protect his body, or sprinkling his ashes in various areas believed to be sanctuary are among the most common examples of this.
In beliefs that consider the world as a test area, a post-death punishment and awards thought have naturally emerged. From the divine religions to the most primitive tribal religions, it is possible to come across a post-death awards or punishment thought for the manifestation of justice in almost every type of faith.
The existence of an afterlife is accepted in all three of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, which are accepted as divine religions. However, statements about the grave life in the holy texts of Judaism and Christianity are not very clear. The verses of the Qur'an for the grave life and the torment of the graves are also not clear enough. Therefore, it was possible to clarify the existence of these two concepts only through the Sunnah, the second main source of Islam. The fact that sunnah is not under protection like the Qur'an, and some words such as word of kind and coup-like, as well as many fabricated words have entered the hadith books, caused some people to display a negative attitude towards sunnah. They opposed making judgments over sunnah or forming beliefs. In this article, the views of various Islamic groups about the torment of the graves are discussed together with their evidence. A small minority denied the grave punishment, either entirely, or only its spirit-oriented dimension, or corporal dimension. Nevertheless, the majority of the scholars of Islam evaluated the verses indicating the torment of the graves together with the relevant hadiths and said that the torment of the graves exists. |
