The samples were extracted with methanol by ultrasonication, and separated with acetonitrile-0.1% (mass fraction) phosphoric acid aqueous solution by gradient elution using C<sub>18</sub> RP column and then inspected by diode array detector (DAD) detector. Under the optimum conditions,The linear relationship of the concentrations of paeoniflorin and puerarin and the intensity of UV absorptions at 232 nm and 250 nm was good in a range of 0.2-10.0 μg·mL<sup>-1</sup>,and the squared correlation coefficient (<i>R</i><sup>2</sup>) was greater than 0.999. The recovery rate of two herbs was between 90.4% and 103.9%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was between 1.53% and 2.37%. The detection limit was between 2 mg·kg<sup>-1</sup> and 8 mg·kg<sup>-1</sup>, meeting the requirements of the national standard for the detection limit.
