Sumario: | This paper studies the role played by the Papacy in the Argentinean catholic church building process. It focuses on the negotiations carried out by the Argentinean diplomatic missions set up in Rome, assessing the relation between the aims of those missions and the ecclesiastical project of the Argentinean government. The objective of this article is to prove that Roman authority was unavoidable from that time on, even though those missions did not reach a formal agreement. |
