Sumario: | This article aims at reflecting on the post-World War II cultural landscape, focussing in particular on the raise of the Rock’n’Roll as a musical genre and cultural movement. In opposition to a state “paranoia”, unrest and anti-conformism became a common ground to various social movements, particularly amongst young people, who created a body-oriented aesthetic and political critique, questioning the conservative values of the Cold War and is factual and symbolic violence. New behaviours and aesthetics created a new world-wide counterculture against the mainstream, which became a synonym of the young generations, which was nevertheless incorporated into the industrial narrative itself. |
