Sumario:This paper explores, from a transnational perspective, the relation between war of independence and the construction of citizenship in territories belonging to Peru, Bolivia and the Northwest of Argentina. The above-mentioned territories could be considered units of analysis due to their strong and ancient economics and socio-cultural bonds and for having being the scene of fifteen years of armed confrontations. Both war and militarization fragmented the territory politically and put their own stamp on the construction of new citizens in each country.
