Sumario: | The purpose of this study is to investigate the factor structure and psychometrical feature of the citizenship perception scale which was developped to determine the citizenship perception of eighth grade students. For this aim by reviewing literature and taking some expert’s opinions, perception expressions that are placed in the pretesting form were determined. İn this study, expert opinions were obtained about content validity of the survey and it was decided to use exploratory factor analysis. Validity and reliability study of the scale includes 349 female, 323 male, totally 672 volunteer student who studies at the secondary schools that was chosen by using the simple randomised sampling method in the Çankırı city centre at 2013-2014 school year. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis it is seen that the scale includes 38 items and concentrated on two factors. The name of ‘democratic citizenship’ and ‘conventional citizenship’ are given to the factors according to the contents of the items. According to the results of the reliability analysis, it was determined that, internal consistency related to total (?=0.80), democratic citizenship (?=0.87) and conventional citizenship (?=0.68) is high. Eventually it was determined that the citizenship perception scale is valid and reliable in evaluating the citizenship perception of eighth grade students. Based on this findings, citizenship perception scale can be used to measure the citizenship perception of eight-grade students. |
