Policies urban oriented competitiveness criteria and “sustainability” value certain spaces in detriment of others, forcing the population that cannot pay for offset benefits outside of this model. In Curitiba, urban planning has been effective considering the implementation of urban policies, so as to keep “poverty” away. It isolated urban spaces and promoted prejudice urban occupation.
