The books La Commune de 1871 a rereading directed by Marc César and Laure Godineau and Commune(s) 1870-1871. Une traversée des mondes au XIXe siècle, by Quentin Deluermoz are an opportunity to measure the transformations in the study of a historical event. The geographical and temporal decentring makes it possible to include provincial or imperial mobilisations. The more individual paths allow us to grasp the way in which personal affects and inertial structures are confronted and articulated. The temporal enlargement opens up to the long time of revolts and revolutions which constitute, for the actors of the Commune, a repertoire available to propose a new form of social and political organisation. The two books have in common the fact that the plurivocity of the lines of interpretation.
