Sumario: | Placental abruption is one of the serious devastating obstetrical complications associated with maternal and fetal severe morbidity and mortality. Although several risk factors are known, it is a multifactorial unexpected complication. Placental abruption is one of the placental related pregnancy complications results from defective deep placentation. The etiopathogenesis pathways participating in the development of abruption include an acute inflammatory vs. chronic vascular pathway. Placental histopathology might shed some light on the causative pathway. |
