Normal cells repel WWOX-negative or -dysfunctional cancer cells via WWOX cell surface epitope 286-299
Yu-An Chen et al characterize the role of cell surface epitopes of the tumor suppressor protein WWOX in cell–cell recognition. The find that cells expressing functional WWOX, repel cancer cells which express dysfunctional WWOX or lack this protein, in a manner mediated by WWOX epitope 286-299.
