Sumario:The importance and benefits of music education have been excepted all over the world, but in Turkey music education is not important at primary schools, enough as in the case with the researches. This situation has been effected music educators and their perceptions of profession. The purpose of the study is to considere the profession of music teaching trough pre-service music teachers’ eyes. 20 pre-service music teachers have been determined with randomly that have been majored at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Education Faculty Music Teacher Training. In this degree, on the talk period under the supervision of the researcher, some referrals hade been made to the pre-service music teachers and the oppinions had been wanted about proffession of music teaching, the periods of vocational training, public perceptions about the proffession and encountered problems in proffessional life. Interview technique has been used in the study. Pre-service music teachers’ views have been analysed with content analysis of qualitative data analyses, themes and codes have been formed. According to the results, the oppinions of the pre-service music teachers, had united under 5 themes: bachelor education, music lessons in primary school, the proffession, teacher qualifications and pleasure. The codes that take place under these themes had been proposed in the study. The results of the study have been brought to light the negative perceptions of pre-service music teachers are more than the positive perceptions.
