This article reviews the role of glucagon in treating severe hypoglycemia and discusses the need for better education on glucagon for people with diabetes and their caregivers in order to alleviate fears of hypoglycemia and of administering glucagon in the event of an emergency. Keywords: severe hypoglycemia, glucagon, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetesKedia NDove Medical PressarticleSpecialties of internal medicineRC581-951ENDiabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity: Targets and Therapy, Vol 2011, Iss default, Pp 337-346 (2011)
