Sumario:Turkey is a disaster country. Geological, hydrological and meteorological species such as earthquakes, landslides, erosion, floods and droughts are the most common disasters in our country. Every year, there are casualties and significant material losses in Turkey due to disasters. It is not possible to prevent the formation of the disaster, but it is possible to minimize the destruction caused by the disaster. The most important thing to do for this is awareness and awareness. The formation of awareness and awareness about the disaster also gives you the chance to plan correctly and in detail against the disaster. Taking the necessary measures against the disaster and planning cities against disasters are also the result of awareness and awareness. In this context, the formation of awareness and awareness in the individual should be ensured in the early period, i.e. primary and especially secondary education phase. Geography education and education are of great importance at this point. If the geography curriculum is visually discussed in detail with the maps prepared in the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) environment, where Turkey is a disaster country, individuals will develop more consciously against disaster. In this study, can awareness and awareness be created against disaster in geography education and training with visual presentation of turkey's major disasters such as earthquake risk map, drought risk map, flood disaster map, landslide risk map, etc.? the answer to the question has been searched. In this context, which region is sensitive to the results, which disaster in Turkey is sensitive? important answers to the question. At the same time, the relationality between disasters and other parameters can be revealed by means of land use, settlement dissolution, hydrography, geology and topography maps prepared in the GIS environment. In this context, our research concludes that the methodology of academic geography and the transfer of the perspective to secondary geography courses in geography education and education will create disaster awareness.
