The effectiveness of specific therapy of patients with syphilis with crystalline penicillin, Durant drugs in monotherapy, in combination with bismuth and non-specific therapy was evaluated. Electron microscopic studies that established the mechanism of action of penicillin on Treponema, the appearance of cysts and L-forms of the pathogen, the role of the macroorganism and stimulating therapy in the completion of phagocytosis are highlighted.
