The etiopathogenesis of disorder is complex, since, as a rule, a number of etiological factors are involved in its formation, triggering several pathophysiological mechanisms. The article analyzes the current literature data concerning the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome in patients who have undergone COVID-19. According to literature data, up to 80% of patients who have had a coronavirus infection have various gastroenterological complaints. The article points to the mechanisms of influence of SARS CoV-2 on the gastrointestinal tract and the development of gastroenterological complaints in these patients.
