Sumario:In 1939, some acknowledged men of Mexican academic and politic realms, like Manuel Gómez Morín and Efraín González Luna, founded the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN). Within this political venture were created the Women’s sectors. Their projects combined activities with a welfare and charitable character, and political ones, like distribution of propaganda, disseminators of the party principles and vote promoters. Several of its members came from the Acción Católica Mexicana. In this sense, the paper postulates that the election of women to carry out these activities was not casual and responds to a particular way of conceiving female citizenship, not only through the exercise of suffrage or the civil service but through social action.
