Sumario: | Teaching Turkish as a Second Language is a journey that started with Mahmut Kashgari’s work of Divani Lugati't Turk. As a result of this adventure many people have tried to be taught Turkish. But the most important breakthrough in this area was realized in 1984 by the establishment of Ankara University TOMER. Initially, educational activities which were continued by rule of thumb showed great improvement in recent years but it is not yet fully reached the desired level.
