This article examines how different streams of nationalism interact with global issues in the United States. Nationalism diverges in many ways, but it is elements of hyper-nationalism, it will be argued, that have the greatest influence on the climate politics of Trump presidency, and partisan party-allegiances in the bipartisan political system of the United States are what ultimately perpetuates public attitudes on climate change itself.
