The analysis focuses on the influence outside Latinamerica of the fingerprint system created by Vucetich. In this sense, it explores the links between Argentina and Europe as part of a scientific and technological transatlantic dialogue. From the timid exchanges between Vucetich and Francis Galton at the start of the 1890s until the declaration of the superiority of his system as a method of identification of criminals by the Paris Academy in 1907, a complex web of connections was built, which brought together officials, experts and institutions from across the globe, and in which Vucetich and his system had a privileged position.
