First examples of compound sentences with ki/kim conjunctions that have been used for nearly one thousand years are seen in Old Uyghur Turkish period texts influenced by Sanskritic, which is an Indo-European language and it was used densely in West and East Turkish written languages with the influence of Persian. In these compound sentences with ki, which are contradictory to Turkish sentence structure, there are two sentences connected to each other with ki. There is main sentence before ki and there is auxiliary sentence after ki. In this syntax, there are also some rare examples in which auxiliary sentence comes before and main sentence comes after appropriate to Turkish sentence structure. These compound sentences with ki, which have been used since ancient times of Turkish, were made with interrogative pronoun kim at first. But it gave its place to Persian conjunctions. In three prefaces that have been analyzed, there are examples of kim and ki. As structures with ki/kim are used in multiple ways and compounding with Turkish structures especially in Fuzuli's preface, this is the preface which is focused on, and structures with ki/kim and their functions are dwelled on. Power of expression and meaningfulness of structures with ki/kim in prefaces are also pointed out.
