Sumario: | This article aims to analyze and understand the morphometry of the relief of the Mimoso River Basin - BHRM, located in the municipality of Bonito / MS, a karst system of great importance in Mato Grosso do Sul. The study was determined the slope, horizontal dissection and vertical dissection of the BHRM. The interpolation of these morphometric components revealed the potential erosive energy of the relief, based on the methodological proposals of Spiridonov (1981) and Mendes (1993). We used the Digital Terrain Model - MDT / SRTM made available by the United States Geological Survey. The methodology also consisted of conferences of the information obtained in in situ maps, from the inclinations and the length and altitude of the terrain ramps. The results pointed to a significant diversity of slope classes, horizontal and vertical dissections, evidencing the potential erosive energy of the study area that runs from the very weak to moderately average classes in the high and low BHRM courses due to the slopes and reduced altimetric amplitudes . In the middle course the middle and mildly strong classes were found due to the marked slopes of mountainous relief added to the narrow ramps elevate the erosive potential of the basin. In conclusion, the analyzes demonstrate the fragility of this karst system that suffers great pressures due to the recent expansion of the agricultural areas for the planting of soybeans and maize for export commodities. |
