Sumario:Uzunköprü, which is located within the borders of Edirne province, is one of the border towns of Turkey with its historical structure and geographical position. The purpose of this study is to determine the climatic characteristics of Uzunköprü based on geographical principles from a geographical perspective. Situated within the Ergene Basin, one of the most fertile areas of Turkey, Uzunköprü is in an area where important human activities such as agriculture, stockbreeding, and greenhouse cultivation are intensely performed. Hence, determining the climatic characteristics of Uzunköprü will contribute to the improvement of these human activities. This study has employed 53-year data of Uzunköprü Meteorological Station from the 1962-2015 period. The climatic parameters of Uzunköprü have been interpreted through graphs, tables, figures, and climatological formulas. It has been concluded that Uzunköprü bears the characteristics of the Marmara transition climate, which is a sub-type of the Mediterranean climate, in terms of precipitation and temperature conditions.
