Sumario:During the last decades, resources explotation in the James Bay forestland caused many controversies between Crees and non indigenous people. Firstly, the analysis of the two main socio-cultural paradigms linked to the forestland helps to understand better the cultural stakes of these controversies. Based on the world vision, the values and interests, the knowledge systems and the practices of the groups in presence, we propose thereafter alternative approaches which could facilitate the management of interculturality linked to forestland since they are based on indigenous knowledge, they allow its incorporation in the management system of forestland, they are compatible with western approaches and they have been experimented by indigenous groups in Canada.
