The behaviors gained with the choir lesson play an important role in the process of performing choral music performances, beside contributing to the culture of the choir. It is very important for the students to be motivated for the efficient performance of the choral lessons and performances. In this study the effect of choir lessons through the Soundpainting approach which is a multidisciplinary live composing sign language for musicians, dancers and visual artists created by Walter Thompson, were researched on the motivation of third grade of music teachers training programme. Soundpainting sign language covers more than 1500 gestures that are shown by the composer/ director known as the Soundpainter. Research is a descriptive study based on the survey model. The data were obtained through a structured interview applied to third grade of students trained in the music teacher program and analyzed through content analysis. This study, which aims to determine the effects of the soundpainting studies on the motivation of the students towards the lessons in the chorus lessons, is important in that it is a study on a performance oriented work supporting creative and cognitive development.
