Sumario:From bodily and gendered experiences to experiences of negotiation - changes in the nursing students' care experiences from 1987-2002. The object of the article is to describe the lifehistory and gender-specific care experiences of nursing students at the beginning of the nursing education based on apprenticeship in 1987 and at nursing students starting their professional bachelor training in 2002. Further a presentation of the changes in these care experiences and the condition for the socialization of care work in the nursing education during 15 years. It is a social-scientific study and the methods are based on mapping the population by means of a questionnaire and on interviewing selected students. The material shows that the students' social and family background leaves its mark on the students care experiences in the two periods. The discussion puts into perspective the changes of the gendered and practical knowledge in the education. As a result of an ongoing politicing and academicing in the practical professions. Towards a discussion of a post modern care rationality in the new century.
