The flow experience is closely related to an action or activity, and has a relatively short duration. In order to occur, several elements need to be simultaneously present and active. These are: balance between challenges and skills, intrinsic motivation, clear goals, self-determination, concentration on the task, immediate feedback, lack of conscious control, altered perception of time (faster or slower), absence of anxiety, absence of boredom, and a positive affective state. In this research, permanent optimal performance emotional state of students who get professional musical education is analyzed in terms of different variables. The research is in survey model and as data collection tools “Personal Information Form” and “State and Permanent Optimal Performance Emotional State Scale-2” are used. Scales are applied to 589 conservatory and department of music education students. In the collected data, it is found that gender, educational status of the family, type of graduated high-school, playing the instrument and the duration of playing, personal instrument success grades and concert performances directly affect the level of self-perceptions of students who get professional musical education towards instruments. In this thesis study which is the first one to analyze the relation of permanent optimal performance emotional state with other variables, it is stated that there is a positive and significant difference in students’ permanent optimal performance emotional state levels.Bahar GÜDEKGizem ARICIFırat Universityarticleprofessional musical educationpermanent optimal performance emotional stateSocial SciencesHSocial sciences (General)H1-99DEENFRTRJournal of Academic Social Science Studies , Vol 12, Iss 74, Pp 339-363 (2020) |
