Sumario: | This work analyzes the electoral practices developed in the framework of the organization of the provincial state after 1820 and more specifically, in the crisis conjuncture of the cabildo in the post-revolutionary order of the Rio de la Plata. This article focuses the attention on a series of events occurred in late 1823, in which the complaint of several rumors of fraud caused the formation of two informative summaries, which form an invaluable way of access to observe how legitimacy is constituted in the political order in budding. In this sense, the legal proceedings initiated and the role of judges in the events described give an account of the public experience accumulated since the beginning of the emancipatory process by individual and collective actors. |
