In those years, for aesthetic and ethical reasons certain artists and intellectuals, imbued with avantgarde ideals, acted as the new men and women who chose to live in modernist houses, as well as producing, distributing and exhibiting images that could – sooner or later – bring the benefits of modernization to these latitudes.
