| Sumario: | Abstract “Completely wet, very wet” sırsıklam and sırılsıklam meaning as commonly used words in modern Turkish. However, until the present day scientific studies, not given enough information about the etymology of these words. In this study, we focused on the structure of the words sırsıklam and sırılsıklam. Emphasized that these words, are a form of reinforced sıklam word. Sıklam word has been searched in dictionaries which prepared on the historical and modern periods of Turkish, also in dialectical studies. Although not used in Turkey Turkish, it is proven that the sıklam word used in the Anatolian dialects. Suggested that the sıklam word derived from sıgıt, sı?da-, sı?la- in old Turkish and examined the morphological structure of the word. Key Words: sırsıklam, sırılsıklam, reinforcement, morphology |
