X-ray crystallographic study of copper (II) mixed ligand coordination compounds with classic dioximes and bidentate bipyridines

The coordination chemistry of copper(II) dioximates is discussed. The insertion of 4,4’-bis-pyridine or 4,4’-bis-pyridine ethane as bridging ligands between two robust Cu(II)-dioximate building blocks is giving rise to binuclear aggregates with the “wheel-and-axle” geometry.
