The participants of the study consist of the students in the branch of history teaching in Atatürk University Kazım Karabekir Education Faculty during the academic year of 2009-2010. The type of the study is survey. Required data for this study has been gathered with “Teaching Profession Attitude Inventory” developed by Ş. Çetin. On the first part of data collection tool a personal information form, developed by researchers, was added. Personal information form contains various independent variables such as; gender, education level, parents education level, family income level and the place of living that they settled for the most of their life. Second part of the data collection tool contains 35-item “Teaching Profession Attitude Inventory” developed by Çetin (2006). This inventory includes three factory: liking, value and compability. Gathered data analysed by SPSS and interpreted by tables. In the analysis of the data, the tests of percentage, frequency, t and f tests were used. Results show that, pre-service techers’ attitudes toward teaching profession is varying by gender favoring females, it also varies by grade in terms of liking sub-category favoring higher graders.
