Structural basis for effector protein recognition by the Dot/Icm Type IVB coupling protein complex
The Legionella pneumophila Dot/Icm type IVB secretion system (T4BSS) translocates effector proteins into host cells, and the recognition of these effectors is mediated by the Dot/Icm type IV coupling protein (T4CP) complex. Here, the authors present the crystal structure of a four-subunit containing...

Sumario: | The Legionella pneumophila Dot/Icm type IVB secretion system (T4BSS) translocates effector proteins into host cells, and the recognition of these effectors is mediated by the Dot/Icm type IV coupling protein (T4CP) complex. Here, the authors present the crystal structure of a four-subunit containing T4CP subcomplex bound to the effector protein VpdB, and identify a FxxxLxxxK binding motif that is present in a subset of the effectors and which is recognized by the T4CP adaptor subunit LvgA. |
