On the one hand, it will be discussed a set of criticisms embodied in six subject ideals impelled by this model based upon which individuals take moral distance from the model. On the other hand, it will be underscored and analyzed a set of reasons for the attachment to the transformations these processes have brought. It is suggested that these contradictory strands define Chilean society today. This coexistence allows understanding that a compact defense of the model appears as inacceptable for most of the population but that, simultaneously, deep transformations might also be resisted.Kathya AraujoCentre de Recherches sur les Mondes AméricainsarticleNeoliberalismSubjectChileCritical perceptionsAttachmentsAnthropologyGN1-890Latin America.
