| Sumario: | This article presents some considerations about many different questions related to social-economical development markers: approaches some historical aspects related to the beginningof the researches about markers; summarizes the main controversies and criticisms addressedto the use of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) as a development´s marker; presents someconsiderations about markers, their function, basic requirements and distinguishes theirmain types; shows, in a succinct way, the main social development markers and also mentions other markers and, finally, approaches some aspects related to the United Nation´s HDI(Human Development Index). |
