Sumario:Mehmet Baydur (1951-2001) is one of the most successful playwrights who influence the literature with his works in the final quarter of 20th century. The playwriht firstly known with his play called “Limon” in 1982 , maintains his place in agende with total twenty-six works until his final play “Lozan” (2001). Because many of these works contains the determination of situation connected with social reality, they have political , economical , sociological and cultural point of viev about the years of 1980- 2000 in the country. Mehmet Baydur aims to show universality by using local elements. The main element that is considered in the whole of the works is “civilized world” , “civilized person” . So playwriht generally shows a critical and interrogative attitude. The playwright don’t give an educative , instructive role or responsibility for solving problems to the art of theater . But he believes that theater requires the courage and it has an improving power in the civilization way of the society.
