Potencialidades geoambientais e dinâmica das paisagens de bordas planálticas – o caso dos municípios de Mauá da Serra e Faxinal

The study area comprises Faxinal Maua and Sierra municipalities, and presents a geodiversal landscape framework liable to cartographic and analysis from geossistemic principles. The differential resistance of lithologies permitted the formation of relief variety ways with superficial surface with unconsolidated newer formations associated to relief compartments. The exploitation of these anthropogenic landscapes, which occurred since the 1930s, have been made based on the agricultural exploitation, but in a different way as the potentials and limitations of each landscape system. We identified and classified three landscape systems (SP I, II and III), besides associated subunit landscapes: SP Ia,b,c,d SP IIa,b and SPIIIa,b,c. The Landscape System I is the one that presents the greatest potentialities for use and occupation, due to a model of exploration of the territory made possible by the soil fertility and a relief of low slope. The Landscape System II presents the greatest restrictions of use and occupation, since it comprises the most declining areas and subject to mass movements. The Landscape System III, in spite of being more favourable to exploitation, requires care in the use and occupation, due to the more friable conditions of the soil, highly favourable to erosion.Susana VolkmerEdison FortesConfinsarticlelandscape unitsgeodiversity potentialities and restrictionsGeography.
